About WBW

Launched in 2020, WBW is one of Ireland's new importers of premium small batch rare European Wines.

Launched by Istvan Szabo in 2020, a native of Hungary, Istvan is the fourth generation of a family with vast experience in the hospitality industry. His great grandfather owned a successful bar, his grandfather managed two hotel and his mum worked in the hotel industry also. Growing up in a family environment exceptional food and drink was central to his families offering, it was here that Istvan gained an excellent understanding and rich appreciation for artisanal wines.

Istvan moved to Ireland in 2006 where he raised his family. Over the last two decades he has been the source of knowledge on Hungarian wines to friends and colleagues. His connection to his home country offers an immediate advantage to the culture of Hungary which has been the building block of the WBW brand. It's focus sourcing and supplying rare wines to Ireland's best restaurants, specialist wine stores and private collectors.
